Today WorldWide

Editorial policy

These are the rules every TodayWW article follows. They are enforced by our publishing system, not just stated.

Sources first

We only report what established news organisations have published. Every article lists its sources, with links to the original reporting, in a "Sources" section. We prefer stories confirmed by more than one outlet.

We respect publishers: we follow robots.txt, use public feeds and official interfaces, identify our crawler (TodayWWBot) and rate-limit every request.

Original writing, no copying

Our articles are written in our own words. Before publication, every draft is compared against each source. A draft that repeats a source verbatim (eight or more consecutive words) or follows it too closely is rejected and rewritten, or sent to an editor.

Direct quotes are used only when they appear word for word in a source, are kept short and are attributed.

No invented facts

Every number, name, date and quote in an article must trace back to a passage in a cited source, and our system checks this automatically. Facts that cannot be traced are removed or the article goes to human review.

AI assistance and human review

Drafts are written with the help of AI models. Articles labelled "AI-assisted, editorially reviewed" were produced this way under the safeguards above.

Stories involving deaths, elections, health, armed conflict or legal accusations are always reviewed by an editor before publication, regardless of any automatic publishing settings.

Images

We never embed images from other websites. Every image is stored on our own servers with its credit and licence: either licensed from the source, a licensed stock photograph credited to its photographer, or a clearly labelled illustration.

Updates and corrections

When new reporting arrives, we update the article and show when it changed and why. Errors are corrected promptly and listed on our corrections page.
