Kylian Mbappe has been officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player; however, fans will have to wait for his debut.

The French captain suffered a broken nose at the start of Euro 2024, which saw him miss one game and wear a mask for a few others.

His national manager, Didier Deschamps, confirmed that Mbappe would most likely need surgery to fix the problem for good.

However, after further checks, the player has decided against this, but he will still miss Los Blancos’ tour of the USA, meaning we are all going to have to wait to see Mbappe in the famous white of Real Madrid.

When will Mbappe make his Real Madrid debut?

The man himself has set his sights on making his Real Madrid debut in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on Wednesday, August 14.

Real Madrid are set to fly out to the USA for a pre-season tour, which starts against AC Milan on Tuesday, July 30.

Los Blancos then face Barcelona at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday, August 3.

The LaLiga champions end their little tour of the US with a game against Chelsea on Tuesday, August 6.

Of course, they would have liked Mbappe to feature in these games, but he’s been given some extra time off after the European Championships.

When asked if he would play in the club’s pre-season tour in America, he replied: “We’ll see with the coach and the club. If the club says yes, I’ll go. I’m at the club’s disposal.

“I hope I’ll play the Super Cup match, it’s up to the coach to decide. I’m going to get to work to play the first match.”

Despite his injury, Mbappe helped Les Bleus make it to the semi-finals of Euro 2024, only to lose 2-1 to eventual winners Spain.

Therefore, he only stopped playing football very recently and has been granted some time off before returning to Madrid.

But the good news for Real Madrid is that the superstar forward doesn’t need surgery to repair his broken nose.

He was asked about it, and revealed he was in regular discussions with Los Blancos’ medical team, he said: “I am in contact with the medical staff, I am listening to what is recommended to me and I will resume playing when possible. I want to be able to contribute as much as possible to the team as soon as possible.”

Barring any injuries or setbacks relating to his nose, then we should see Mbappe playing his first match at the Super Cup.

Real Madrid are scheduled to face the 2023/24 Europa League winners at the National Stadium, Warsaw, in Poland.

Of course, this means he can win a trophy in his first game as a Real Madrid player, which wouldn’t be a bad way to start.

However, if not, Real Madrid start their LaLiga campaign against Mallorca on Sunday, August 18, and his first home league game would be a week later against Real Valladolid.
